Keys in a Jar

Keys in a jar
She collects keys & fits them in a jar
Every time she leaves in her little red car
How do you know what to do?
How do you know what to say?
How do you know where to go, when you start running?
Through the misty planes
Running through the fields of change
Walking through the fields, passed the river behind the trees
You told me you were knight once and you showed me your shield
I did not know what to do
I did not know what to say
I did not know where to go, so I started running
And I left you alone with the trees
I left you alone with your jar full of keys

On the corner of the old & the new town
Standing on the corner of the old & the new town
Waiting for you to walk down the street
You don’t need to forget the old sound
I just want to sit here in the corner and listen to you
But you hold on to the past, like you hold on to a stone,
that has turned into glass
You just might see me standing on the corner
So I tried to follow a cloud moving down the old streets,
but my feet could not keep up
I thought I might find you in the old town,
sitting on the swing underneath the old willow tree
Because you hold on to the past, like you hold on to a stone,
that has turned into glass
You just might see me
But you hold on to the past, like you hold on to a stone,
that has turned into glass
you just might see me passing by

Miss Tree

Miss tree
Just paint your dream
Taste the rain fall on your poetry
Let me see your face, your dark space and your endless grace Don’t hesitate
Dear miss tree, you grow your arm around me
You paint your dream of a tree in the rain
Where the yellow moon lights up the grey
I will embrace the day, with you by my side
Today, all day, today, all day, today, all day
You grow your arms around me, when you paint your dream.
And when you paint your dream, please don’t paint me
Because I can’t breath, no I can’t breath

My friend the storm

My friend the storm
My friend always thinks he is standing
on the edge of a building he’s just calling for help,
but nobody listen to a word he says
He listens the rain and his psychiatrist
But I think they keep telling him all the wrong things
Still they just try to help him understand
THE STORM IN HIS HEAD
THE STORM IN HIS HEAD
Hey mate, maybe this medicine made you into a borderline,
in-between incomplete thrills and the rest of your life
But who am I to say this, this is your life, your choice
I am just a friend, who tries not understand
THE STORM IN YOUR HEAD
THE STORM IN YOUR HEAD
And your are alone
Happier alone
With the storm in your HEAD

Memories in melted wax

Memories in melted wax
Sometimes she tries to sleep on the cold floor
She rests her head on a book just to make sure
That the black shapes stay under the bed
The same shapes she saw on her old television set
And she said; No one cares for me
So I am just lying on the floor trying to sleep
No one cares for me.
I am just lying on the floor trying to reach you
Sometimes she turns her back to the shadows in the wall & finds out where the black shapes are born
When she sits with the candle holding her head, waiting for the candle to take his last breath
No one cares for me.
I am just lying on the floor trying to sleep
No one cares for me
so please let me sleep, let me dream
Let me sleep, let me sleep, let me sleep
Let me sleep…………………………………………………………………………………………………
so please let me sleep, let me dream
Is this just another memory in melted wax?

Red ribbons

Red ribbons
Those cars move to fast
When he ran across the fields he could not get past
Those cars cut open his gray winter coat
& left him in the middle
So, she keeps a shovel in the back of her car
To remove the body’s from the road
She brought him home to her house near the woods
to lay to rest in her garden
Down in the rabbit hole
They wonder why he does not come home anymore
At Hatter’s party there’s an empty chair
Left in the middle
She keeps a shovel in the back of her car
To remove the body’s from the road
She brings them home to her house near the woods
to lay to rest in her garden.
She ties red ribbons to the branches of trees
She ties red ribbons
For everyone that was left out on the streets

This Room
04:30
|

This room
She stares into this room, chained in pain
She can’t move the blood, trough her veins
The pain inside. The pain inside this room, can’t go outside
The pain inside her eyes, stopped last night
When she drowned in dark water
The reflection of her life, left the light on last night
The Questions on the wall and the mirror on the floor,
show that
The pain inside. The pain inside this room, can’t go outside
The pain inside her eyes, stopped last night
When she drowned in dark water
Her inner harbor and pills, left on the table
The sun outside but still, she was unable to fight for
The pain inside. The pain inside this room, can’t go outside
The pain inside her eyes, stopped last night
When she drowned in dark water.

If heaven exists
02:58
|
|||
If heaven exists
You want to be free like the birds in the sky
I just want to love but my mind won’t let me fly away
from the truth and all the lies
But when I see that smile in your eyes
If heaven exists this is it
Your touch with art, your lips
Your kiss, your sweet kiss
If heaven exists this is it
I want to drown in your eyes again
I want to float on your sky
When I do I feel free, because to me you are that bird
that flies in the heavens above my restless mind
If heaven exists this is it
Your touch with art, your lips
Your kiss, your sweet kiss
If heaven exists this is it
I am sorry I have to go now
I have been planning this journey for years
To be alone & find myself
I hope I will cause you no tears
When the monsters stop you pull me up,
inside a place above my restless mind
every time we and the trees look at the stars
I feel your breath and I hold your forever in my arms
If heaven exists this is it
Your touch with art, your lips
Your kiss, your sweet kiss
If heaven exists this is it
I’ll miss you and I wish you were here
I’ll miss you and I wish you were here
I’ll miss you and I will see you soon

Postcards

Postcards
Last night I wrote a postcard to myself, to myself
From a deserted island on the other side of my mind
While my feet started to sink in the sand
The sea tried to grab my ankles
Last night I wrote a postcard to my friend, to my friend
I wrote a story about a friend on a deserted island
You don’t need to tell me your life is worth living
You just need to dive in and start swimming
Last night I wrote a postcard to Dr. Pavlov
To apologize that I set his dog free
And I wrote a letter to say goodbye,
to the minister of defense Who promised us his fear
of everything he doesn’t understand
I became a traveler on the run.
I was forgotten by. I was forgotten by the place I came from
So Last night I wrote a postcard to myself, to myself
From that deserted island with a black dog and everything I try to forget
And while the sea tried to grab my ankles
My feet started to sink in the sand with all my postcards in my hands, in my hands

Dial-tone

Dial-tone
You sit there by the window
Holding your chair
Watching the children play in the park
When I am alone
my thumb starts dancing with the numbers on my phone
I sit & wait with my ear pressed against the horn
When you are alone
Alone with your phone
When I am alone
Alone with my phone and the dial-tone

Blue Dress

Blue Dress
He took all your things, even your shoes at the door
I gave everything. Except that blue dress he left on the shore
He took your books,
my books and all my memories on the walls
My violin and I even forgot my songs
And I gave; I gave it all away except that blue dress
left on the shore

Long way to go
02:50
|

Long way to go
Diamonds and gold, off which the terms are forgotten
It only says money, a word that’s not mistaken
Death that it took for the people who are
blinded by the fame and the wealth
It’s a long way to go. It’s a long way to go clean up this world were in. Smoke in the air and money we use to destroy ourselves
In the meantime we live unaware off what’s the trouble.
There’s time enough to set yourself into a suit.
But time is little, to make this world alive again.
The fish is caught, the trees are gone and the earth had lost his shield.
It’s a long way to go. It’s a long way to go clean up this world were in. Smoke in the air and money we use to destroy ourselves
When we are about to discover the mess we made, the lies we were told, far away down the
moment, it’s to late
It’s a long way to go. It’s a long way to go clean up this world were in. Smoke in the air and money we use to destroy ourselves

The Library

The library
When she left for the city she pinned her heart on my jacked and asked, “Will you wear this for me until I am home?
Because in that city even the trees get wrapped up in concrete
I said, “yes I will wear it when I walk through these grey streets, so everyone can see us and I will wait for you on the second floor of this library
Until you unfold your arms and hold me
Because you make me forget about
This world sometimes so cruel and lonely
There is a man outside that lives in-between the sidewalk and the streets. He sleeps but does not dream anymore. Inside all the books stand quietly. I will read to you until you fall asleep, so I can watch you slowly disappear into a dream
And when you unfold your arms and hold me
You make me forget about
This world sometimes so cruel and lonely
And your arms make me, know what it’s all about

My bicycle and my blue pen
It’s easy to say, “You need to learn to love the rain”,
If you drive in your car all day
I only have my bicycle, that takes me where I need to go
But tonight I need a place, A shelter from the rain
Because there’s a storm headed this way
It’s easy to welcome everyone, at your door
If you make every stranger leave
But you opened your door for me
Because you did not want to be alone in that thunderstorm
So we hid behind the red & white curtains in your bedroom
It’s easy if you believe, the truth is written in an old book
Some use to justify their crusades
But I only have a blue pen and I’ll write the same thoughts over & over again
In a book on a blank page
Maybe someday, these words start to make sense
So with or without a map
I get lost or sidetracked
On that big inner-city round about
I keep riding round and round, but every exit ends at her doorstep
